Quoting equipment in the used market is often times more art than science. There is no published price list or web market guide. Do we have an idea what pricing makes sense? Yes, based on our experience and the feedback of our customers.
Pricing has to make sense to the buyers of used equipment based on their economic alternatives. TEAM A.T.E. works to understand these economic alternatives as well as market supply and demand. We want transactions to make sense for you whether you are buying or selling equipment.
To accurately quote a system we usually need:
- Exact configuration requirements. If we can’t meet that, we’ll let you know what we can do. For many systems we can configure to your requirements.
- Timing. Is this a budget quote? We can help you with just an email or a formal quote if needed, but we don’t try to slot systems for delivery with a budget quote, which helps us better plan.
- How is the system being used? Is financing needed? Do you need install, service, warranty?
- What will our costs look like to supply you the system? This one is for us to figure out, but sometimes your needs mesh nicely with an option or need where we can be very price competitive.
- We know you need the best price, but understanding current new pricing and other economic alternatives helps us know where equipment needs to be priced to be competitive and make sense to our customers.
The bottom line is for us to efficiently prepare you a quote; it usually requires a discussion with your Account Manager. They are very nice people and promise to work with you in a way that follows our guiding principles.
