Communication is the Key
It has taken longer than it probably should, but I've learned over time the importance of communication and understanding. Too often I dismissed or disagreed with something simply because I didn't take the time to really understand it. What could easily be worked through with just a little effort, patience and clear communication often gets needlessly turned into a big and unnecessary headache. I think a lot of us are guilty of this at times. I would detail personal instances of this happening but I'm sure you can think of plenty of your own!
Every month I and my co-workers here at TEAM A.T.E. communicate with you via this newsletter. We try to make the content informative, relevant and worth your while. Hopefully you find the content valuable, informative and relevant.
As you know it takes at least two to communicate. It isn't a one way street. Rather than talk to you, I'd much rather we speak with each other. There is a big difference. No one likes a conversation that is dominated by one person talking on and on about themselves. The same goes for us in a sales environment….how are we supposed to understand your requirements and concerns unless we listen?
At TEAM A.T.E. we keep track of the type and models of ATE our customers are using. Likewise, we also monitor who is selling particular systems, and who may be interested in buying them. In that way we can match supply with demand. While we work hard to keep this information up to date, contacts and equipment needs change quickly. We need your help in keeping your equipment listings accurate. Our goal is be able to inform you when a system comes available that you've expressed interest in and that looks like it might be a good fit for you…and not waste your time when it isn't. In order to do this we like to periodically check in, see how things are going, and update any equipment needs or surplus. Ideally we could reach all of our customers by phone once a month or at least once a quarter, but we know this isn't realistic. You are busy and often not at your desk with time to spend on the phone.
This month I am asking you to take a moment to simply reply to this email with a quick list or summary of equipment you'd be interested in hearing about, and/or any surplus you would be interested in selling. If you can provide a configuration summary… great, but a simple rundown of make and model will help. If we have accurate and up to date equipment listings for you we can serve you better…more efficiently and definitely more effectively. I don't want to send you an email on a piece of equipment that you are no longer looking for, and I'm sure you don't want to read it. However, if I have a good understanding of your current equipment needs then that email may just help source exactly what you are looking for, and at a significant saving over new alternatives. Likewise if we can help find a home for your surplus equipment it will help provide capital to purchase systems you do need.
I appreciate that you take the time to read these articles each month. You are still reading, right? While the article is not always serious I at least attempt to make them informative. I like the opportunity to communicate with you via our newsletter, and have enjoyed most of the comments and feedback I have received! In working with you I and my co-workers are straight forward in our approach. We may ask a lot of questions, and we make sure we listen for the answer. As our customer understanding your needs is key. Without that we are simply throwing system configurations at you and hoping some of them stick. Neither one of us wants that. Again, please take a just a moment to reply or pick up the phone and call to let us know what you would be interested in hearing about. We'll continue to contact you periodically. As the experts like to say, communication is the key to a good relationship.
